Description
The LTR-303ALS-01 light sensor is a cost-effective, small form-factor, low power I2C Ambient Light sensor. The LTR-303ALS-01 is in a 2.0×2.0x0.7mm 6pin DFN package. The LTR-303ALS provides a full dynamic range from 0.01-64K lux while providing close to the eye spectral response with immunity to IR/UV light sources and automatically rejects 50/60Hz light flicker. There are 6 gain settings available 1X, 2X, 3X, 4X, 8X, 48X, and 96X) to the user and provides a 16-bit effective resolution output.

The smSENSR-LTR-303ALS Light Sensor provides an easy to use, low-cost, ultra-small breakout board that can be soldered directly into a prototype or can be used with a standard breadboard. The smSENSR-LTR303 pins are all mapped to standard 2.54mm/0.1” headers. The header-header spacing is 7.62mm(300mil).
The smSENSR-LTR303ALS Light Sensor can be plugged into ANY of the smBLOCK I2C sockets in the smWSP-ARD(Arduino Compatible) and smWSP(Silicon Labs EFM/EFR32 STK compatible) wireless sensor rapid prototyping platforms that allow sensors, memory, power management, USB-UART, and radio SoC’s to be plugged into the smBLOCK locations. smBLOCK devices can easily be plugged in and removed from the smBLOCK locations to rapidly configure a wireless sensor system.
IAQ-LOGR Application w LTR-303:
Sensor Maestros has used smSENSR-LTR303ALS Light Sensor in the IAQ-LOGR Indoor Air Quality application that is a wireless sensor application that measures Ambient Light(smSENSR-LTR303), Temperature and Humidity(smSENSR-Si7006), CO2(smSENSR-SUNRISE) and can data-log the sensor data to a ultra low power Macronix serial flash(smMEM-MX25R6435). This entire application utilizes the smWSP-ARD (WSP = Wireless Sensor Platform) (-ARD = Arduino R1 Compatible) and the firmware has been developed for a Nordic nRF52832 BLE SoC. An iOS/Android mobile app is also available for this application which allows individual sensor configuration, real-time graphing, and download of data-logs from the IAQ-LOGR.
