Description

IAQ-LOGR:  Indoor Air Quality Data Logger Intro

The IAQ-LOGR is an Open-Source firmware application for a Wireless Indoor Air Quality Monitor.  The application at a high level operates as a Connectable BLE Beacon.  The firmware samples, data-logs the following sensors:  Temperature, Humidity, Ambient Light, and CO2.  Each sensor is configurable via a mobile app along with the data-logging interval and other parameters.  All sensor data is logged to the SENSR-LOGR app with timestamps.  The logs can be stored to Cloud Drives, emailed, or sent via text.  The sensor data logs are provided as a CSV file.   Sensor Maestros designed the IAQ-LOGR with a couple of hardware options that the user can choose from as described below.  The application allows for HIGH and LOW Alarms/Thresholds to be set via the SENSR-LOGR mobile app.

IAQ-LOGR: Indoor Air Quality Data Logger Open Source Firmware Description

The Open Source firmware implements an Indoor Air Quality Monitor and Data Logger we call the IAQ-LOGR.  Sensor Maestros is providing the IAQ-LOGR firmware as open source under the Apache 2.0 license.  The firmware implements an I2C interface to the individual sensors and implements a SPI interface to a Serial Flash.  The application will data log the sensor data to the serial flash based on the user configurable Data Logging Interval.  When the IAQ-LOGR is connected to a BLE client such as the SENSR-LOGR Mobile app it will synchronize the sensor data logs we call SENSR-LOGS to the BLE Client.  The firmware provides a BLE interface that allows for configuration of each sensor, each sensors high/low alarms and sampling interval.  The data logging interval and advertising interval are configured by using the SENSR-LOGR mobile app.  The SENSR-LOGR app also provides real time graphing and the ability to download the SENSR-LOGS in a CSV file or push these logs to a Cloud Storage location.

The IAQ-LOGR application utilizes a unique rapid prototyping hardware base board called the smWSP-ARD.  The smWSP-ARD is an Arduino R3 compatible shield that has standardized pinout I2C and SPI plugin blocks we call smBLOCKS.  There are also additional smBLOCKS that support other functionality being USB-UART, Power Management, and RF/Wireless.

IAQ-LOGR:  Indoor Air Quality Data Logger Hardware Options

BASE OPTION:  Requires additional nRF52 or nRF52840 DK!!

STAND-ALONE OPTION:  Does NOT require any additional boards, Full Stand-Alone Operation

For a slight additional cost this package can provide complete stand-alone operation for the IAQ-LOGR and does not require a Nordic nRF52 DK to be used.

smWSP-ARD

The smWSP-ARD supports all Sensor Maestros smMEM, smSENSR, smMOTN, smCOM, smBAT, and smPWR breakout boards that plug directly into the smWSP-ARD using smBLOCKs to quickly plug in these pin compatible design components making it simple to swap in/out numerous different wireless, sensor, memory, and power configurations to completely customize your system and then just as easy to completely change it a day later. Gone are the days of having to work with a sensor evaluation board that has several sensors you would love to change but they are soldered directly to the PCB. Now you can pick and choose your RF, sensor, memory, power, and battery configuration. Secondarily all these components can then be un-plugged from the smWSP-ARD to be either used in a prototype of your own, in a bread-board application, or simply be replaced by a different smBLOCK compatible component.

  • 4 I2C smBLOCKs: Can be used with any smSENSR and smMOTN products
  • 1 SPI smBLOCK: Can be used with SPI compatible smMOTN, smSENSR, and all smMEM products
  • 1 USB-UART smBLOCK: Can be used with any smCOM products(smCOM-FT230).
  • 1 RF smBLOCK: Can be used with any smRF based products such as the smRF-LR832.
  • 1 Power smBLOCK: Can be used with any smPWR products such as the smPWR-MP2148
  • 1 LiPo Battery connector
  • DIP Switches to enable individual Interrupt pins for each smBLOCK and SPI pins
  • Compatible with all smMEM, smSENSR, smMOTN, smCOM, smPWR, and smRF plugins
  • 1.25mm Battery connector
  • CR2032 Coin Cell Holder(bottom of PCB)

Growing family of plugins Sensors(smSENSR), Power(smPWR), Battery(smBAT), Motion
Sensors(smMOTN), USB-UART(smCOM), and RF Radios(smRF) and Demonstration software to tie everything together.
